Knauss Coblenz are fine, hand-built pianos with a rich, clear, rounded tone. The ones we have restored in the past have been of very good quality and craftsmanship. This overstrung piano is original throughout and remarkably has been kept in perfect shape all its life having benefited from years of tuning and servicing by us and a steady climate.
The original ivory keys are in good condition, with solid soundboard, tight tuning pins, and cast iron frame. It was recently traded back to us against a modern piano to take the player beyond grade eight. We recommend this piano for its rounded tone and responsive light touch. Ideally suited to a student learning the grades on, or a beginner to intermediate level player. This piano is huge in stature, so please bear that in mind. It is original, so has minor wear and tear on the case, parts look dry, more of a Matt finish, but overall is good.

The internal mechanism known as the ‘action’ is thoroughly regulated and overhauled and tuning stability is very good for its great age. The hammers are resurfaced, realigned, and now perform at their optimum best.

Warranty is renewed after two years if O'Briain Pianos or a third party tune your piano at least once a year.
Piano is tuned prior to delivery. It's important that you tune your piano after two months, as it takes two months for your piano to acclimatize and adapt to its new environment (Tuning Cost: €130). During this 'settling in' period, a piano goes slightly out of tune. After this first tuning, your piano must be tuned at least once a year (Tuning Cost: €130). If you are an intermediate to advanced level player, tuning every six months is advised.
