This instrument is restored inside and out. Aesthetically pleasing with a refinished Walnut cabinet and stylish design to look and sound great. A pleasing rich warm tone and nice even touch, long Tenor and Bass strings, potent sound in the lower register. Previously rebuilt with new hammer heads, tapes, springs, felts, bushing and leathers.
The casework now looks the same as when it was originally manufactured, having been stripped back, repaired and finished with many coats of the finest grade polish. There is a mark on the right leg which has been previous repaired, you can see it in the main image, it looks darker, but looks fine also. Overall the case is perfect, shiny, with renewed brass works.
The meticulously prepared internal mechanism known as the ‘action’ is thoroughly regulated and overhauled and Hopkinson made good reliable hard wearing actions. The hammers are aligned and now perform at their optimum best. Pedals are regulated and new pads installed around them to reduce movement noise.
Each ivory key was put through a cleaning and whitening process using ultra violet light. Piano is tuned, toned and ready to play.
