The new look is unmissable, as the layout of the sanctuary has been changed and worship is now conducted more quietly since carpet has been laid. Specialist experts were called in to give the lovely stained glass windows of the church a facelift to ensure they survive far into the 21st century. While the re-painting, re-varnishing and re-decorating works are all obvious, much of the money was invested in giving the roof an overhaul. The building was originally created from plans drawn up by famous English church architect Augustus Welby Pugin, the only example in Wexford of his Romanesque style. The restoration was entrusted to Wexford architects Mahon and Fox, who called in a Dublin conservation specialist to deal with the project.
