Challen (Complete Restoration)

A completely restored, reconditioned, and partially rebuilt upright piano by master craftsman Tim Jackson (Dip. CGLI) of Comeragh Pianos, Kilrossanty, County Waterford.

Tim trained at the Welsh College of Musical Instrument Making and Repair under the guidance of Richard Kuhnel, where in 1987 he qualified as a Piano Tuner/Technician receiving a Distinction in Piano Restoration. He has over 30 years of experience working with pianos in schools, colleges, theatres, churches, cathedrals and private homes throughout Wales and more recently Ireland. 

A lovely compact piano from the highly respected manufacturer, Challen. This instrument from 1962 is finished in a repolished mahogany cabinet. The original 85 note keyboard has been restored, with keywoods cleaned and keytops cleaned and buffed. Internally, the action has been restored too, with refaced hammer heads, new repetition springs and tapes among the work carried out. As can be seen, the pedal system has also been restored. An opportunity to purchase a quality instrument from one of the best makers.
