George Rogers (1925) Restored
George Rogers (1925) Restored
This beautiful George Rogers baby grand piano was built in 1925 and was recently traded to us by a gentleman from Mayo who purchased a Steinway from our shop. He learned the grades on it for many years and it served him well. When it came to us it was badly sun faded so in the last three months we stripped the case and French polished it by hand, so the cabinet now looks fresh, and the grain of the wood comes through the Polish so it has a lovely appearance.
This piano would suit it beginner to intermediate player and has a responsive touch and mellow, even depth of tone throughout, with a strong tenor and bass. The cast iron frame is solid but looks a little aged. The tuning pins and pin block are an excellent condition. There were some minor fractures on the soundboard which we have repaired. We put the Ivory keys through a whitening process and they look very well now.
George Rogers are a very respected manufacturer of fine pianos that use high quality components and woods.
