The Kawai DS55 Limited Edition is a rare, premium acoustic upright piano manufactured in Japan.
- Upgraded Materials: As part of Kawai's specialized "DS" series prototype/special run, the Limited Edition version utilized premium solid wood materials and upgraded internals compared to mass-market models of the same era.
- Distinctive Cabinet Aesthetics: It features subtle, unique cabinetry contours, aesthetic wood detailing, or specialized limited-run branding elements that set it apart from standard polished ebony models.
- Acoustic Characteristics: Known for a deeper, more robust tone and a highly responsive action, making it a highly sought-after secondhand instrument for intermediate to advanced players.
Work Completed by Us:
Full restoration of the cabinet and brass-works. Multi-stage machine polishing using rotary buffers and compounding paste. Our goal is for the cabinet to look like new again.
Internal pressure-blasting and cleaning of individual original parts. Action re-alignment, adjustment, regulation, and voicing of the hammer-heads for a pure, even tone.
Key-tops cleaned, keys levelled and adjusted so the touch and responsiveness of the keys feels uniform.
Strings and soundboard cleaned. Back of piano cleaned and oiled.
Piano is tuned twice. We tune once again upon arrival at your home.
Brand name enhanced if made of brass and pianos fallboard felt replaced.
Pedals removed, cleaned, lubricated, and polished on a wheel.
Castor wheels oiled, repaired or replaced, for ease of movement.
