Hopkinson are highly regarded British manufacturers of fine pianos. They are renowned for their quality, material components, and rich rounded tone.
This 1930 piano was owned by a lady from Waterford who played it there for many years before shipping it to Dublin to her new home. She had a tuned annually and played it regularly. The cabinet is mahogany, and overall is in good condition, with some signs of wear commensurate with age.
The original Ivory weighted keys are in excellent condition, with no yellowing or chips to the front of them. Internally the piano is excellent, with a solid internal action. The piano has an overstrung underdamped configuration, with cast iron frame. The tone is full rounded and the piano has a strong tenor and bass register.
